| When I bought my first house, there was a fig tree in front. It took a while but I finally developed this recipe to use the figs from that tree. I've moved on, but maybe someday the cuttings I brought along will make more figs. |
| 3 1/2 cup | whole wheat flour |
| 1/2 cup | sugar |
| 2 teaspoons | backing soda |
| 1/2 teaspoon | backing powder |
| 2 cups | mashed figs |
| 1/2 cup | peanut oil |
| 3 | egg whites |
| 1/2 cup | chopped pecans |
You can substitute mashed apples for the figs or walnuts for the pecans. |
